PLAY WITH SIMONE LUCAS

Balance begins when the floor stops being flat. TUMLE STEPPING STONES are 5 stones in calm Nordic colors, created to give children something to climb onto, step out onto, and venture across. We designed them to stay out all day, in the living room, on the floor, right in the middle of play. Because motor skills are not practiced at specific times, but in all the little moments in between.

Stepping Stones is more than an obstacle course

Stepping from stone to stone is not one movement, but a hundred small ones. The weight shifts, the foot searches for the edge, the eyes find the next stone, and the body straightens up again. It is exactly this kind of adjustment that builds balance, gross motor skills, and body awareness. And when the stones are not being stepped on, they are stacked, sat on, or rearranged - three things in one set.

What happens when the floor turns into lava?

The child finds their own rules. The stones are moved, laid out in a new route, stacked into a tower, and knocked down again. We see children take the same step twenty times, hesitate at the last stone, and start over. That kind of repetition is not random play. It is the child getting to know their own body at their very own pace - and it continues long after the first steps.

Stepping Stones that fit in the living room

We designed them in calm, Nordic colors because toys should be allowed to stay out without taking over the room. They don't need to be packed away every evening - they stay out, and that's precisely why they get used. When the floor needs clearing, they can be stacked away in an instant. For children from 10 months, BPA-free and CE-marked, they stay with them throughout the early years.
